My Portfolio

Web Work

Bell Web

During my time at Bell Web, a Bell Canada Professional Service department, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to help various clients achieve their web measurement goals. Some notable clients include, Microsoft, Air Canada and FHFN (an official host of the Vancouver 2010 games). Furthermore, I have contributed heavily to developing service offers, such as Social Media Monitoring and Web Optimization, which will be made available later this year.

Concordia University

Working from the central communications office, I performed multiple roles. I led Concordia's web designers and developers, as well as support hundreds of the university's websites. I managed the production of the university's main website, conducted research into new technologies and promoted innovation to keep the university's websites effective and inline with Concordia's strategic goals. I coordinated and helped develop a website generation application that saved the university over $140 000 in man-hours, conducted user-testing and analyzed web statistics to improve our users' experiences, and pioneered the use of AJAX to improve the usability of existing web applications. I also succeeded in making strategic improvements in my department by instating project workflow procedures, promoting project management, and having technologies installed to improve the organization of our work.

Office of the President

The president of Concordia University has decided to be more approachable than previous presidents and wanted a site that made her appear personable. This site has a blog where she can post her messages to the community and photos of the events she attended. The thumbnails are automatically generated so that the president can focus on the content of her messages and not technicalities.

This is the website of the 59th Annual Conference of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists. It was built rapidly based on a customized version of the Concordia University web template, demonstrating the template's efficiency and flexibility.

Media Relations

This is the first administrative site to be based on the templates I designed for Concordia University. All future Concordia websites will be built based on these templates. This particular site is packed with accessibility features, as well as an experts database, hot topics system, subscription forms, and even an administrative back end. To top if all off, it will feed the new Concordia website with news.

As part of the Marketing Committee, this website was the home for the very popular CASE conference and served the over-1400 attendees. This web design sports standards-compliant code and is backed-up by a MySQL backend, and sports a slideshow to boot.
